I've noticed the street activism youtubers I used to get a lot out of watching have gone relatively quite lately. I used to get psyched on watching earthling ed, humane hancock, joey carbstrong, james aspey and av for the voiceless post videos waking people up or showing cognitive dissonance. Does anyone know any currently active street activist on social media?

It’s weird since it works on my iPhone phone but not my iPad , and it didn’t work on my friends iPhone. I’m quite concerned since the last time I saved my account was 3 months ago, I’m currently working on and building an Insane demon, and I don’t want to lose all the progress on it…

2021.10.25 08:18 SunnyJim57 Playing Backwards

Against New Orleans, the Giants sucked for 52 minutes before surprisingly becoming something akin to a competent offense. Yesterday they waited until around the 41 minute mark before the offense stopped sucking -- progress? Against a very bad Chiefs defense and a potentially injured Mahomes, could the Giants offense turn it on around the 39 minute mark?
Shall we talk about the good, the bad and the ugly?
The Good

  1. It starts with Daniel Jones. He played a really nice game despite consistent pressure from Carolina's defense and zero running game (6 runs for a loss). Someone mentioned it on an earlier thread, but for perhaps the first time in his career, Jones used his legs behind the LoS to buy time and make plays. That was encouraging. He of course ran well when run plays were designed for him, which is not really a surprise, even if it is now a tad frightening to watch. No turnovers was a positive. And even though the Panthers were terrible in every facet of the game other than their pass rush and run defense, it was a nice bounce back game for DJ.
  2. Azeez Ojulari. I have to temper praise here because Carolina was so very bad. Had Darnold not been wildly erratic, easy to disrupt and burdened with receivers who dropped more than they caught, things likely would have looked very very different, and not in a good way. Still, Ojulari had himself a very nice game. It reminded me a bit of what was the best attribute of the 2007 defense -- as the game wore on and the tide started to shift, the 2007 Giants defense, especially their pass rush, became relentless. That was Ojulari yesterday. Somewhere in the late third quarter he started abusing the left tackle play after play after play. I began finding myself expecting his presence in the backfield before the ball was released. That was exciting. As I commented during the game thread yesterday, for what I think may have been the first time all season, Ojulari lined up predominantly on the right side in place of Carter. We'll need to wait for the snap count and further analysis, but it looked like a better pass rushing launch pad for him.
  3. Balance of the Defense -- again, major tempering here because Carolina actually looked worse than us. As I joked yesterday, you know, dollars to donuts, had we not drafted Saquon in 2018, we would have selected Sam Darnold. He is one very bad QB. Schlereth ripped him throughout the game for his terrible footwork. That said, the defensive line writ large played pretty well against a banged up Carolina line. Hard to assess whether they were so terrible we looked good, or whether the level of play has elevated a tad. For the second week in a row, LW has put up some pretty good numbers; yesterday he made two impactful plays - the safety, and the scoring-drive-ending sack. The back end of the defense was ok, but helped so much by Darnold and the receivers I hesitate to call them good. Darnold literally airmailed 2 INTs - we caught one, we dropped one.
  4. Jason Garrett -- the game plan was better than usual even though he is a complete disaster of a play caller in the red zone. The RPOs were effective, especially early. The MacAdoo slants were open all day. And we even saw a pitch play on a third and short. But the runs up the middle need to be used far less since our interior linemen cannot move the opponents back even 1 inch. And something has to be done about the red zone calls. I was watching Arizona-Houston later and the creativity they hit a defense with in the red zone is something to be studied.
The Bad
  1. The O-line was mostly tragic once again. They were typically unable to run block or pass protect - pretty much the entire job of the offensive line. The run blocking is, however, far worse than the pass blocking. Given we currently have no RB worth his salt, maybe that's the best place to be bad, but it hurts having so little run game it actually poses no threat to a defense and they can play accordingly. I will say this for the bombs up front, very late in the game when it was apparent that the Giants were going to win (the 15-5 mark) and the Panthers defense had largely given up, they did start to open some holes and play with a bit of confidence. Although it is always dicey reading too much into garbage time, with this o-line take what you can get. Maybe something to build on?
  2. Middle of the Defense -- they still can't cover the middle of the field or anything underneath. Between the number of dropped passes and wide open short stuff, this game could have, and likely would have, gone the other direction with either competent QB play or receivers who actually caught the easy passes.
  3. Davonte Booker -- don't know what the Giants see in this guy. He looks really slow. I assume Saquon will be out until after the bye. Over the next two games I would like to see Gary Brightwell get some reps. Don't know if he can be any good, but the tandem of Booker & Penney, especially behind this o-line, is so uninspiring that we begin each game one-dimensional.
The Ugly
  1. David Sills -- one opportunity and he flubbed it. Moment too big? He waited so long for a shot and he dropped an easy slant pass. Worse, it looked like he had running room. He would have secured a first down. He probably would have also secured at least one more target. He blew it and that might be his last shot -- unless of course Golloday and Toney continue to cooperate by collecting their paychecks from the Evan Engram Peleton Club.
  2. Speaking of Engram, even when he does not actually do anything horrific (he tried once) his failure to make any meaningful impact is striking. Please Santa, trade him this week.
Random shout-outs
  1. Quincy Roche -- I've been Jonesing for this guy to see more action for weeks if only because Carter and Ximines have been so utterly useless. Roche made one really nice run stop early. I can't think of any other impact plays he made; I'll be interested to see his snap count and whether they are listing him as an OLB or a DE (I read one pff snap count analysis that called him a DE). I will also note that in the one pass rush win rate article I read, Carter was listed as having 12 attempts and 0 success. I think his days are numbered and we may see him on the block this week. Ximenes actually was more impactful than Carter yesterday, and that is saying something.
  2. Raymond Johnson III -- he was a force up the middle on one of Ojulari's sacks. That's the only play I remember from him, but as a G101 HoF inductee, 7 games into an actual NFL season, worth a fist pump.
  3. Jabrill Peppers -- likely on his way out of Dodge this week, but a super nice hustle sack early that set a tone for the defense. I wish him luck.
And remember: Bad teams make us look good! (Sometimes -- Washington/Atlanta)

2021.10.25 08:18 florabm my cat was hit by a car a couple months ago

my lovely cat, bitsy, was hit by a car in august. my mom and i found her body in our alley. i keep replaying that awful moment in my head over and over. she normally wakes one of us up so early for her breakfast, something we said annoyed us, but was really a lovely way to start the day. she didn’t come to wake either of us up that morning so we went looking for her. i can’t get the image of her body on the ground out of my head. she was always so full of life, it was so wrong to see her suddenly without that.
i’ve done everything i can to hold on to every piece of her that’s left. my mom and i made a beautiful collage of our favourite pictures of her, i sleep with one of her favourite toys, i spoke to a psychic, and i got a little urn necklace to wear some of her ashes around my neck. my family and i have talked about getting a new cat. my sister said she thought that that would fill the hole from the loss of our bitsy, but that just doesn’t feel possible. bitsy was such a unique cat, and i know everyone thinks that about their own cat, but she had such a distinct, funny, and loving personality. she would get in these moods where she would sprint around our house, literally climbing up the walls, making the funniest sound as she did it. she loved to be picked up and would drag herself around your neck and hang around it like a scarf. she loved ripping up paper bags to bits and pieces, making a huge mess. she could never be replaced.
i find myself feeling so jealous of people whose cats lived to be over 10 years old or so and died of natural causes. losing a pet is so difficult regardless, but losing a pet prematurely, especially in such a gruesome way, just isn’t the same. i feel so happy and thankful for the time i got to spend with my lovely cat but so cheated for the many years i won’t get to spend with her. your pet dying is inevitable, something you know in the back of your mind you’ll have to experience at some point. but her dying this way wasn’t inevitable; it was a matter of horrible timing. it makes it so much harder to accept her death knowing that if just one thing had been slightly different, she would still be alive. it feels like i’ll be crying about this for the rest of my life. my only hope is that i’ll get to a point where i can think of my bitsy and only feel happiness and gratitude for the time we got to spend together, no matter how brief. i’m not quite there yet but that’s okay :’)
